Both the City of Ithaca and the Town of Ithaca have established the following rules in order to preserve the ecology of the natural area and the safety of its visitors:
- Take only pictures, leave only footprints. This means carry out any waste you bring with you and do not take any plant life.
- Dogs are allowed on leash. Please remember to pick up any of their waste.
- Absolutely no swimming.
- No fires.
- No alcoholic beverages.
- No biking.
- No hunting.
The Route 11 TCAT bus stops at the intersection of Hudson St. and Colombia St., which will be a 15 minute walk to the Mulholland Wildflower Preserve. When you alight, walk east (toward the creek, away from 96B) on Colombia St. At the “T” intersection, take a right onto Giles St. The Mulholland Wildflower Preserve will be about a half mile on your right just past the bridge. Be mindful, some sections of this walk do not have a sidewalk!

The parking lot on Giles Street will grant access to the trail from the Mulholland Wildflower Preserve.

Directions from the East: Take RT-79 W toward the City of Ithaca. As you near the city (the houses will be closer to each other) you will see a traffic light at the intersection of E. State St./E. MLK St./RT-79, Giles St., and Cornell St. Turn left onto Giles St. at the traffic light. The parking lot will be on your left just shy of one mile after you turn. If you drive over the bridge you have gone too far.
Directions from the North and West: Take RT-79 E leaving the City of Ithaca. You will see a traffic light at the intersection of E. State St./E. MLK St./RT-79, Giles St., and Cornell St. Turn right onto Giles St. at the traffic light. The parking lot will be on your left just shy of one mile after you turn. If you drive over the bridge you have gone too far.
Directions from the South: Take 96B toward the City of Ithaca. Approximately one mile past Ithaca College (on your right) you will come to the intersection of 96B and Colombia St. Turn right onto Colombia St. Keep going on Colombia St. until the “T.” Turn right on Giles St. The parking lot will be approximately a half mile on your right, just past the bridge.
